My my My my

Welcome to the online home of the nationally ranked Darien High School Blue Wave boys lacrosse team. Every season the team embarks on a mission striving to continue the tradition of excellence that is embedded within the program. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit. This program has a habit of succeeding.

The Wave are led by Jeff Brameier who enters his 32nd  season as head coach. Under "Coach B", the program has a win/loss record of 506-129. The program has garnered national recognition with ten state titles including the six straight (1997, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014), thirteen FCIAC championships (1992, 1994, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2014), five state runner-up trophies, and twenty-five consecutive trips to the state "Final Four" from 1987-2012.

Coach B is assisted by a very experienced and professional staff that includes Associate Head Coach - Bobby Lutz and Greg Lewis  on varsity, Stephen Tomasco on JV, and Charly Fish and Keith McGivney on freshman. The program is also lucky enough to have volunteers Mike Ryan & Gene Salvatore  involved.

DHS Boys Lacrosse Preseason Information

There will be a very important organizational meeting on Wednesday, March 4th at 2:30-3pm in the Large Cafeteria at DHS for all boys intending on playing lacrosse this spring in grades 9-12.

If you can't attend the meeting you should e-mail Coach B to let him know and make sure that you take care of all the things listed below and on handout that was sent via e-mail.

Schedule is as follows for preseason:

March 4th -  Player Meeting  -   2:30-3pm  DHS cafeteria

March 6th  -   Kickoff Party (for Parents and Supporters of Program) -  Seniors will be helping set up

March 9th-13th  -  DYLAX Preseason Week at Sono Field House  - 3:00-5:00pm   Cost  $150/player   register at DYLAX web

March 12th  -  Parent / Player meeting -  7-8:30pm DHS cafeteria   (this will be very informative - with a staff of doctors from ONS going over medical response for the athlete)
(this will also be a great time to do any necessary catch up -  sign ups for pasta dinners, etc..)

March 15th  -   Team Workday at DHS  9am-1pm   setting up field netting, stringing goals, etc...    Every player is expected to be there!

March 16th-20th  -  DYLAX Preseason Week at DHS  -  2:30-4:30pm   Cost  $75/player   register at DYLAX web   (cost is lower because of lack of field rental and the fact that the players will be required to work at least two days with the youth clinics at 4:30-6pm)

March 22nd  -  DYLAX Deerfield Playday  -   10:30-1pm  at DHS   (varsity in Stadium  -  jv/frosh on oval turf)

March 23rd  -  First official practice  at DHS  2:30pm  must have all forms and physicals in before this date.

Key items:
You must make sure that your physical is up to date and on record with the school nurse by 3/23 or you will not be able to practice.
You must fill out another Athletic Emergency Card to be handed into Coach B signed by the nurse to approve your status to play.

Please look at the preseason training offerings put on by DYLAX.  If you are not in a winter sport season or if your season is over - it would be a good idea to get started with this.

Please make sure that you have begun your physical training.  You should be lifting and running to insure that you are ready for the start of the season.

Please make every effort to hold the date of March 15th - Sunday for our annual Work Day.  Weather providing we will get the fields ready for play.  Postponement date is 3/21.

Team Store items will start to ship this weekend directly to your house. YES - It is Christmas all over again.  If you have any issues you should contact directly.

Team Helmets and Gloves will be distributed.  Please do not expect an individual issue time.
We will start with the helmets and will continue all the way up until 3/23 to make sure that everyone is equipped properly.  We will let players know when we will be at DHS to issue more of the helmets.
Gloves will be issued after the first or second week of practice.

We hope that you are excited about the spring season.  Make sure that you are prepared to go with all the necessary things in place:
